Privacy policy

Last updated: · Version française

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

In short. The RawDrop app collects no personal data: no account, no ads, no audience measurement, nothing sent to the Internet. Your photos and settings stay on your phone. We only receive information if you write to us, if you send us the diagnostic log, or, when you buy the app, the order information passed on by the store.

Who we are

The data controller is ZITOCORP, a simplified joint-stock company with a sole shareholder (SASU, France) with a share capital of €100, Pontoise Trade and Companies Register (RCS) 999 238 660, with its registered office at 32 B rue de la Croix, 95220 Herblay-sur-Seine, France. Contact: contact@zitocorp.com.

This policy covers the RawDrop app (RawDrop Light and RawDrop) and the rawdrop.zitocorp.fr website. It follows Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978.

What the app keeps on your phone

RawDrop needs some data to work. It is stored only on your phone, in the app’s private storage, and we have no access to it:

  • the photos received from the camera (RAW and JPEG) and the developed photos;
  • the profiles, presets and correction tables you import (copies of your files);
  • the settings: pairing identifier (GUID) and camera name, the camera’s IP address if you enter it, receiving mode, export options;
  • the list of files already received, so they are not received twice;
  • the diagnostic log: errors, file and look names, with no identifiers or network addresses.

This data is deleted when you uninstall RawDrop. Photos you added to the phone’s gallery stay there.

Network connections

RawDrop only communicates with your camera: over the local network (Wi-Fi or the phone’s hotspot), with the standard PTP/IP protocol, and, for pairing, over the USB cable. The app connects to no server, ours or anyone else’s.

The camera’s protocol does not encrypt the exchanges on the local network: prefer a trusted network, such as your phone’s hotspot.

Android permissions

PermissionUse
Network, Wi-Fi state, multicastFind the camera on the local network and receive the photos.
Foreground service, notificationsKeep receiving with the screen off, with a progress notification.
Wake lockPrevent sleep during a transfer.
USB (with your consent, requested by Android)Pair the camera directly when it is connected to the phone.
Storage (Android 10 and earlier)Save photos to the gallery.

The files you import (profiles, presets, ARW) are chosen by you in Android’s file picker: RawDrop accesses no other file.

Photo metadata

Photos may contain metadata: date, camera body, lens, shooting settings, sometimes a location. RawDrop reads it to sort and develop the photos. When exporting, you choose to keep or remove it (Settings → Export). It is passed on to no one.

Sharing

When you share a photo or the diagnostic log, you choose the app and the recipient, with Android’s share menu. RawDrop sends nothing on its own.

If you contact us

If you write to us or send us the diagnostic log, we process your email address, your message and, if attached, the log, only to answer you and solve the problem. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in supporting RawDrop, or the performance of the contract if you bought the app. These exchanges are kept for three years after the last contact, then deleted. They are only passed on to our email provider, to deliver them.

Purchases

RawDrop is bought on Google Play (and, where applicable, the App Store). The store processes the payment as an independent data controller, under its own privacy policy: we receive no payment data.

The store may pass on limited order information (number, date, product, country and, depending on the case, name or email address). We use it to manage orders, refunds and support, and for our accounting obligations. Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legal obligations. Retention: for the duration of the relationship, then ten years for accounting records (article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code).

The rawdrop.zitocorp.fr website

The website uses no cookies, no audience measurement, no ads and no third-party content: typefaces, images and videos are hosted on the website itself. No consent banner is therefore needed.

Our host, Cloudflare, Inc., processes technical logs (IP address, date, requested page, browser) to deliver the website and protect it against attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure. As Cloudflare is established in the United States, this data may be transferred there, with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).

The website may remember in your browser, for the session, that you closed the language suggestion. This is not a cookie, and nothing is sent to us.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict and object to its processing, to data portability, and to set instructions for what happens to your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to contact@zitocorp.com or to ZITOCORP, 32 B rue de la Croix, 95220 Herblay-sur-Seine, France. We answer within one month.

As the app sends us nothing, we usually only hold your exchanges with us. The data stored by the app stays on your phone: you can delete it by removing photos and looks in the app, or by uninstalling it.

You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.

Children

RawDrop is not specifically aimed at children and collects no data, including from them.
